I felt is appropriate and timely to share my 30 Day Blogging Challenge experience. We are down to the last two days of the month of August and what an experience it has been! Life changing actually on many levels. I couldn’t help but think of it as running a race where the crowds are cheering us on. I can actually see and here the crowds now.

Blogging Everyday 5 Days a Week Has Been a Push

Blogging everyday 5 days a week has been a push for me. I’d find myself writing my posts early in the morning to leave the majority of my day for the other tasks that need to be done in my business. There were times that I was bone tired having suffered both adrenal and thyroid exhaustion so finding the right balance can be tricky.

I Created the 30 Day Blogging Challenge for Encouragement

I created the 30 Day Blogging challenge as a way to encourage myself and others to stay the course. Maybe for some blogging everyday comes naturally however I found for me, I felt just a bit out of balance with the continued push to create great content without overwhelming myself. I am so glad I did the challenge because it did get easier to write and come up with good content and stay consistent. Sometimes pushing can be a good thing. I almost saw this as sprint for the month of August.

Taking more action is a matter of changing your focus and your associations. It has been said, we are more motivated as humans to avoiding our fears than attaining our desires and goals. I found this post by Katie Frieling, thought provoking. If you are not familiar with Katie she is passionate about personal development, personal growth, and an expert in optimizing social media and online marketing. She is a gem and you can gain so much from her blog and the great content she provides.

Taking More Action, Harnessing the Power of Fear by Changing Your Associations

In Katie’s post and video she takes the time to dig behind what motivates us and how we can make that work to our benefit. When we operate unconsciously there is no hope for transformational change and progress. Simply by becoming aware of the power of fear in lives and our desire to avoid that which we are afraid of can be used as powerful tool through creating new associations.

Creating Videos that Connect with Your Audience and Get Found on the Web

Be Yourself, Be Authentic

There is only one you, don’t attempt to be like someone else just be yourself. Share your style and your personal branding and your authentic self will shine through. People know when we are not being ourselves so relax and celebrate that you having something to offer in a way no one else can. Your audience is seeking you so you only need to show up and offer the best value in your unique way.

Get Your Video Seen By Your Target Audience

Make Your Title Count

Just as in blog posts title’s carry a tremendous amount of weight. Create a great video Title and it can pull in a huge amount of traffic. You want your Titles to be optimized for both human interest and search engine optimization. Use your key words in the title of your video and create Titles that are catchy and interesting.

Remember Google owns Youtube so you can see there is a definite connection between video and searched content. When posting your videos,I recommend that you post them to youtube. Use a Key word rich title that is catchy, use key words in the description of the video and use the proper key words and tags when posting your videos.

Be Interesting, Informative, Funny and Provide How To Content

Two of the most sought after areas content on the internet is content that is funny and content that provides how to information. Position yourself as a thought leader and trusted advisor in your area of expertise. All of this continues to grow your brand.

Keep Your Videos Short

Because our time is valuable and attention spans are shortening keep your videos targeted focused and no more than 3- 4 minutes. In late, 2009 ComScore found that the average video online is 3.8 minutes in length.

Borrow From Hollywood

In the beginning keep your videos simple. Simply talk to the camera and have a background that does not distract from you. Keep it simple until you are super comfortable.

This will be the first of a series of posts on the power of online video. In today’s post I focus on why you will want to get involved in this seismic online video marketing wave.

To Grow Your Personal Brand and Grow Your Business

Heard of Gary Vaynerchuk? If you don’t recognize his name you’ll probably recognize his best selling book, “Why Now is the Time to Crush It! Cash in on Your Passion. Gary was doing reasonably well with his dad’s liquor store and wine shop offline but when he took to using social media and taking his marketing online he chose video.

Gary started a Vlog which is a Blog with Video. He’s no dummy. He knew it was all about personal branding. He is earthy, uses a few four letter words and best of all he doesn’t fall into the category of the typical wine expert. Gary knows his wine but presents wine totally differently and he was able to quickly capitalize on what makes him different by using video as his main medium online.

The Art of Connection Starts With Caring About Others

I am blessed to be apart of a fabulous blogging mastermind with two other amazing female bloggers. We are writing and creating videos on a series of topics that are pertinent to online marketing. Today’s topic is pertinent to all areas of our lives, the art of connection. I love the words the art of connection because it truly is an art. Connections with others is to be cultivated and elevated to an art form.

Starts with Caring About Others

I thought where would I start with the discussion of the art of connection? I knew my discussion had to start with caring for others. One can not truly connect until one cares. If I am self absorbed I will not be a good connector with others. I will not put myself in their shoes. So truly connecting has to do with caring, empathy with another person. When I put myself into another person shoes I now have the opportunity to connect. What is the phrase do not judge another until you have walked a day in his moccasins. A powerful code to live by.

Meditation is Easier Than You May Think

I think one of the biggest mindsets that gets in the way of a regular meditation practice is the thought I don’t know how to do this, or what if I don’t do this right? Meditation is actually easier than you think. Below I am going to include the necessary guidelines for a successful meditation.

Some Myths of What It Takes to Successfully Meditate

Before I cover how simple it really is to meditate successfully, I’d like to point out some myths.

Must be in an Yogic Posture to Successfully Meditate.

Must Know Mantras to successfully mediate.

You Must Meditate for Hours Per Day

You Must Know Exoctic Breathing Exercises

Must Have A Special Chair For Meditation

Must Have a Guru You Are Working With to Successfully Meditate

Meditation is Hard Work

The Good News Meditation Can Be Easy To Do and Maintain

The good news is successful meditation is much easier than you think. Anyone can meditate. As children we would naturally meditate as we day dream or get quiet and listen, our ability to naturally meditate gets programmed out of us as we grow into adults.

Meditation Creating My Life From the Inside Out

Meditation Connecting with Your Higher Source Leads to Inspiration

Mediation Often Takes a Back Seat in Our Western Culture

We are such an outward focused society especially here in the west that meditation and contemplation often take a back seat in life. Most my life and my conditioning has been wrapped up in what I do and how much I get accomplished. Nothing wrong with accomplishing goals and creating results in your life but what if there were an easier way? Rather than through using our will (driven by our egos) what if we allowed inspiration to guide our lives?

My Journey

Two years ago when I set out on my online marketing journey there was a lot to learn and do. I found myself so stuck in my head by virtue of the learning curve I was on, I could feel myself getting out of balanced. Again, there is nothing wrong with learning new things and expanding myself and my skills however when I come from a balanced living there is a grace that envelopes my life.

When I Least Expected It

Just when I least expected it, Larry and I were at our health food grocery store in Sedona, New Frontiers. I was eating in their cool little deli restaurant when I noticed the bulletin board. There is this great bulletin board with tons of announcements, events and seminars listed. I was drawn to one in particular. It spoke to me. I grab the information on the flyer. It was for a 8 week meditation course.

Funny How We Often Wait Until Our Backs Against the Wall

Memories flooded my mind when back when I was 30 having just gone through a divorce and living on my own for the first time since college I found myself at a cross roads in my life. It was financially challenging time in my life and I knew I needed help. Just how bad had it gotten, I hadn’t paid my rent at the time for 3 months. Fortunately my landlord was a good friend. I went to see an Episcopal woman minister. She counseled people who came to her and she was highly recommended by friends of mine at the time.

I told her many areas of my life were great but there was this one challenge in my life which was my finances. What seemed to me at the time an insurmountable challenge. She said, something to me that I will never forget. ‘You don’t have a financial challenge you have a spiritual challenge. You are not taking time each day to connect with your higher source, to connect with God.’ I remember laughing all the way home. I knew immediately I could do something about that.

She shared with me that through prayer and meditation I could access this higher power. I am a good student so having tried everything else I just got off the merry go around of life and meditated, prayed intentionally each day, twice a day. Over the next 40 days or so I felt tremendous inward changes taking place in my life. I started having more mystical experiences in my life on a regular basis. Experiences that blew my mind.

I attracted a six figure income over the next 3 months into my life, I’d think of friends and they would call me within minutes the list goes on and on. Now back to present time. Unfortunately my mediation practiced has been sporadic in my life and guess what my life has reflected this. I have had just come through a bout of adrenal and thyroid exhaustion and without getting into the whole story, it was just another reminder of not tapping into my higher power.

You Want to Be Where Your Audience is Going

Your Facebook Fan Page is an integral part of your online marketing strategy. This is a total of 40 minutes per user and I bet the amount of time that Facebook users stay on Facebook is climbing.

Don’t Do This in Your Network Marketing Business

Some Humor for Your Friday, I Laughed So Hard I Cried

If you have spent any time in network marketing and network marketing training then you probably have run across Todd Falcone. What I love about Todd is he not only an adept network marketer and trainer who teaches the tried and true skill sets of network marketing. He has primarily focused on offline marketing methods however he is becoming a master of how to use the online medium to convey his message and his teaching.

Humor is the Best Teacher

Todd has found his online niche through teaching through humor. He has created his alter ego in ‘Buzzy Boxer’ got to love the name. Buzzy has a good heart and is giving it his all and we all get to benefit from Buzzy’s mis-steps in his network marketing journey.

Todd gives us an inside view through short videos of the assorted antics that Buzzy goes through to get the sale and build his team. Humor is one of the best teachers and Todd does this in spades.

Though a bit over the top you’d be surprised how close Buzzy’s antics are to the truth with many network marketers. It just reminded me of some outrageous stories of my past experiences with even people on my team or those approaching me from other network marketing companies. I will save those stories for another post. This is a perfect example of where real life is stranger than fiction.

Woke up early this morning and of course I ended up on my laptop blog walking. I became inspired by Terry Tiessen taking on Darren Rowse’s Seven Link Challenge. First I want to commend Terry for her passion and commitment to take on the Seven Link Challenge, Terry is a fairly new MLM blogger and she is jumping in with both feet. What respect and admiration I have for her.

Perhaps because I have only been blogging for a year and half I can identify with Terry’s passion and desire to let no moss grow under her feet when it comes to upping her blogging game. It takes courage and a sense of adventure and introspection to be willing to take on the challenge of our more seasoned colleagues like Darren Rowse.

The Importance of Your Online Marketing Funnel

Successful Online Marketing requires planning. Creating a detailed marketing funnel for your online marketing gives structure to all your online endeavors. We have all heard the phrase that people don’t plan to fail they simply fail to plan. Most of us wouldn’t intend to take a hit or miss attitude with our businesses and this is actually what we are doing when we don’t create a detailed marketing funnel for our online marketing.
