Gene a business owner, author and columnist gives great insights into the myriad of services that Talk Fusion offers. Just to be transparent I am over the moon about Talk Fusion which I like to think of as Video Marketing Made Simple.

This will be the first of a series of posts on the power of online video. In today's post I focus on why you will want to get involved in this seismic online video marketing wave.

To Grow Your Personal Brand and Grow Your Business

Heard of Gary Vaynerchuk? If you don't recognize his name you'll probably recognize his best selling book, "Why Now is the Time to Crush It! Cash in on Your Passion. Gary was doing reasonably well with his dad's liquor store and wine shop offline but when he took to using social media and taking his marketing online he chose video.

Gary started a Vlog which is a Blog with Video. He's no dummy. He knew it was all about personal branding. He is earthy, uses a few four letter words and best of all he doesn't fall into the category of the typical wine expert. Gary knows his wine but presents wine totally differently and he was able to quickly capitalize on what makes him different by using video as his main medium online.

If you are not familiar with the TED talks they are where the greatest minds in the world come to share innovation in their respective fields. Before I went to bed last night I was blessed to see Dr. Robert Thurman talk about enlightenment developing out of the internet and technology.

Dr. Thurman was speaking to the fact that the truth behind all things is interconnectedness. The internet, social media and blogging is connecting us in a multitude of ways with unlimited potential connections.

Taking our online line connections offline is one of the most powerful things we can do with our online marketing and most important in our building of relationships that can last a life time. What is the purpose of online marketing? For some is to sell products, affiliate programs, building our network marketing businesses however at the end of the day the lasting opportunities are the relationships we build, the relationship we create over time.

I had the pleasure to meet Kary Rogney, an extraordinary blogger, social media and internet marketer. Kary is so much more than all that. He is intelligent, intuitive and sensitive. In his offline world he is a passionate first grade teacher, fabulous husband and dad to two beautiful sons. His wife Kellie is vibrant, intelligent soul and they are perfect together. Kellie is passionate about home schooling, nutrition and family and together they are providing their two boys a fabulous foundation to launch their lives.

If you use the internet, you must be you're reading this post, you do business on the internet or both you need to make your voice heard right now. There is a struggle in Congress in regards to net neutrality which means keeping the internet free for you and me and all citizens.

Why should you care? Imagine for a moment that the internet over the next few years becomes controlled by a few large companies who also happen to control the infrastructure of the internet and now they control what websites and blogs you can find on the internet. This greatly impacts us as citizens, consumers and middle to small business owners.

You have probably heard the phrase don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. It is funny to me how sometimes as human beings we can be all or nothing, we only do it this way or that way. The truth is traditional marketing methods of face to face, over the phone, person to person has worked remarkably well in network marketing for over 50 years. We are in a relationship business. Many people get caught up in transactional selling where the focus is on making the sale rather than creating long term successful relationships. Network Marketing is all about relationships. This being the case the traditional methods of building a network marketing business can work very well. Over the phone or face to face marketing has tremendous advantages however there is real value in adding in internet marketing including learning how to master social media. The benefits of social media and internet marketing is expanding your reach and the leverage that internet marketing can provide.

I don't about you but I can be a bit impatient at times with my marketing. Sometimes I want to have built huge exposure overnight and a huge following but like the tortoise and the hare story, the tortoise approach to your marketing has a huge payoff. It is easy to be tempted to throw money at your marketing to hurry it along and yet in the long run content is king on the web. Organic marketing builds your marketing on a solid and enduring foundation.

My definition of organic marketing versus traditional outbound marketing is that you are relying on good content and utilizing social media to get your message out to the market place by offering tremendous value to your readers. Traditionally marketing was ruled by those who had the biggest wallets and the ability to get their messages out to the market place over and over again. It relied on a one directional approach where organic marketing is dynamic and is multi-directional and when done properly invites the participation of all.

his post is very pertinent to my own journey. It is easy to get distracted and running into too many different directions when setting up your points of contact on the web for your internet marketing. I have 2 youtube channels, my husband has a youtube channel for his new business, I have two blogs, my facebook and my twitter account. I have a dozen or so articles I have written thus far. My plan is to connect all these points and use my youtube channels and articles in part to drive traffic to my blog. As a Master Plan it has a lot of merit however there is something to be said for focusing your efforts.

In looking back at my internet marketing experience thus far I can see another approach that I believe deserves consideration. Pick one social media platform and master it. Once mastered pick another medium and master that as well. In other words build each piece of your network on the web one social medium at a time. I have been on Facebook for two years but only recently am I fully realizing the potential of Facebook.
