My Personal Story…
I was born in New York NY, but grew up in the midwest, the heartland of America. I was the middle of 3 children, however my older sister was given up for adoption, so in a very practical sense I grew up as the oldest of two. There was a lot of emotional pain in my formative years and as a result I became very shy and introverted growing up. I focused on my internal life and creative pursuits. I loved to paint, draw and create. I loved communing with trees and nature. Growing up I would sing songs to the trees. I could feel them communicating with me. Nature was the salve to my life given the stress and turmoil that existed around me. I was extremely intuitive and learned to listen to my still quiet voice.
I have always had a driving passion for all things spiritual, thinking about why I am here, what is my purpose and what is the purpose of life? At one point in my life I wanted to be a priest. Needless to say, growing up in the mid-west and during the 1950′s and 1960′s was not very supportive for a young girl to become a priest. Funny I never thought about being a nun.
My mother was a brilliant English professor at Blackburn College, a small Presbyterian school, in south central Illinois. When she was studying and getting her Masters Degree and her PhD. I came to live with my grandmother for a number of years. My grandmother and I were and really are still so very close though she has long since passed on. She was a mystic with a deep understandings of universal laws. She shared much of her understandings and inspiration with me. We were so connected that often words were not even necessary. My mother however was very practical and in her approach to life was much more scientific. You had to see it and measure it by scientific standards to validate it’s value.
I did notice though after my mother retired from teaching she obtained her theology degree I never seen her happier than delving into her spiritual life. She sounded 20 years younger. She was relaxed and enjoying her life.
My Passions…
My grandmother the mystic and my mother the scientist became the foundation of my life. I later realized I was both mystic and scientist and how well this balance has served me in my life.
I developed a deep love of the arts, reading and found my passion with all things visual. In college I became a film maker, photographer and later I jumped into video production. No surprise that I love social media and creating videos. In fact video is the next best thing to being there when you are developing your online marketing.
As a young adult I delved into The Course in Miracles which gave me an incredible foundation into the deeper meaning of life. When I was 30 I went through a divorce which had me standing on my own two feet for the first time. It was a water shed in my life. I started coming into my own. It was during my early 30′s that I started tapping into and developing my entrepreneurial nature. I think the seeds were always there however in school we are not taught to be entrepreneurs only to be employees for someone else’s vision.
My Introduction to Network Marketing…
A friend introduced me to network marketing and I will forever be grateful to her for sharing her passionate introduction. In fact she left a message on my answering machine (in those days there was no voice mail) and said, “We are going to be rich!” It was coming from such a pure and innocent place and I loved her as a friend plus I too wanted to be rich and own my life. I was hooked once I saw it was a business model that equaled the playing field for everyone with the desire to transform their lives.
Here was a business model with no glass ceiling for women and that people from every social and economic background could successfully participate. I discovered that network marketing was a personal development program with a compensation plan attached. The more you grow as a person the better you get paid. I have always had a fiercely independent nature and entrepreneurship allows you to call your own shots.
I found mentorship in my network marketing career which made all the difference. Network Marketing is a teaching and training business and more I grew as a person, followed my mentors insights and teachings the faster and easier it became to build a dynamic and prosperous business. I have gone on to build businesses in excess of 30,000 members and growing.
One of my Greatest Challenges and a Downturn in My Story…
In my mid 30′s I became very ill with mercury poisoning and an array of auto-immune issues. At one point I was on the verge of liver failure. I spent a whole year in bed except for visits to my nutritionist, chiropractor and other health care providers. I was divinely lead to a an amazing nutritionist and healer. She and her team opened me up to many powerful tools for healing. It was a long journey to recovery however I always had my network marketing income to support me during these difficult times. I can not tell you how important that was in terms of my healing process.
I also did soul searching into the deeper levels of why I materialized such all consuming auto-immune health challenges. I have done energy work, meditation, working with the subconscious mind to realize and release limiting beliefs. Nothing happens by accident and everything has a reason for coming into our lives. My personal development and spiritual exploration is a life long journey that continues to this day.
Discovering the Secret to a Transformed and Successful life…
Through my spiritual understanding and study I discovered at the core of everything in my life was forgiveness. First, forgiving myself then forgiving others. Forgiving everything! I found as I incorporated this deep understanding and practice into my daily life, my life transformed.
I also realized I am responsible for everything that happens in my life. This is not in the form of blame but in the recognition that the power is within my hands to transform my life. This is true freedom!
Our Changing World and the Opportunity of the Internet…
I think in life we are always in a process of re-inventing ourselves. A couple of years ago I realized that our world is changing at a rapid pace and my business building needed to reflect those changes. The majority of my career I built my network marketing organizations using offline methods. However, I knew there were huge advantages to going online.
Like many people I perceived I would need tremendous technical understanding to master the internet which stopped me in my tracks. I discovered by taking the plunge that I did not need technical know how and that it has never been easier to create an online business.
I found the best mentors and I learn and applied everything I was learning. I have emerged with tremendous understanding of social media and how to effectively use social media and my personal blog to brand and create a following online. My husband has been online for years and now we conduct social media seminars in our local community. We will be introducing online training as well. Because we are both baby boomers we teach and provide training with this perspective in mind.
My Role…
Many people are desiring and finding they must re-invent themselves and providing baby boomers with the necessary tools, insights and most effective training is essential. Both Larry and I are well poised to provide this support and love empowering others to live life passionately and reaching the wider audience that the internet provides. We understand that many of you were not born with a computer in your lap so it is our commitment to share what works, without the technical mumbo jumbo, focusing instead on developing quality relationships online and beyond.
