Marketing is Great But Are You Making Time for Sponsoring, Training and Duplication in Your MLM Business?
Marketing is great but how much time are you focusing on sponsoring, teaching and duplication in your business? Ty Tribble inspired me today with his post. Let’s bring the sanity and logic back into this online attraction marketing madness. The pendulum has swung way too extreme into the marketing arena. Yes, we all need qualified people to talk to in our business. However, if you are not sponsoring, training and duplicating then you are not going to build a thriving network marketing business.
With the Emphasis on Marketing have We Made Things Too Complicated for the Newest People in Our Business?
Sometimes I wonder through attraction marketing if we have made our businesses too complicated. I know I am glad even having just said, that, that I jumped into internet marketing. I know it’s value in terms of attracting qualified individuals to us and our business. However we just had a situation with a couple of distributors who felt a bit overwhelmed with what there is to do, working on Facebook, building their blog only to find that they weren’t doing on a daily basis the most important steps we must all make to create thriving network marketing organizations. Speaking to decision making people everyday and sharing our products and our business opportunity.
Are You, Sponsoring, Training and Getting In Front of Your New Enrollees Contacts or Is All Your Time Spent Marketing?
This doesn’t even include training your new enrollments in your business and getting in front of their decision making people. So if you are spending too much time on your blog, even driving traffic to your blog, the latest ways to stay on top of the search engines then you not spending enough time each day, connecting with people, working through the networks of others whom you have sponsored and all the rest.
Network Marketing is a Teaching and Training Business
Network marketing is a teaching and training business. We are talent scouts and once we identify individuals on our team whom are ready, willing and able, are job is to help them succeed. Part of that is getting in front of their decision making people and train and show them the fundamentals of building a thriving network marketing organization.
Marketing is Important to Your Business but Let’s Bring the Fundamentals Back
Yes, it is great and important to have a flow of new people you can talk to and to get better and better at attracting qualified prospects/connections for what you have to offer but don’t forget that is just the beginning of the process. Let’s bring some sanity and balance into online and online attraction marketing. Market, Sponsor, Train and Support Duplication in your business.

Hi Faith,
Great post and very good question! There has to be a balance. We seem to get so excited about all the new gadgets and systems of attraction marketing and so focused on bringing in new blood into our business that we seem to forget to nurture and train the ones we already have. Let alone nurturing our customers who really are the life blood of our business, because they are the ones who joined us because they LOVE our products.
Great food for thought! Thanks for the reminder!

It’s a great summary of a To Do list..with each person. When I was in sales FT I had a call sheet with the person’s info, I would write down what I did and what conversations we had.
It’s really back to the basics.
Great reminder Faith..I guess I got some work to do.

We all do Mari-Lyn. Sometimes we can be so focused on the forest that we miss the trees.

Faith,
Actually, I think that you just summarized the balance in this statement:
“Market, Sponsor, Train and Support Duplication in your business.”
And I believe where this can help folks even in the beginning is having that simple picture clearly placed in front of them and reinforced throughout the success process.
Perspective always helps!

Thank you Lee. I feel strongly about this. I feel is it is critical that each day at least 5 days a week we are in front of decision making people for our business. A balance of doing income producing activities and long range building are essential.

Hi Faith!
What a great question to propose. I feel like it is so important to be there to train our down-lines or clients. In “training” them, we have to make it simple. Attraction marketing is awesome, but we need to take it to the next level which is leading them to our product. Of course we can do that in so many ways. But once we find that some thing works for ourselves, it can be duplicated and taught to our students. That’s my two cents!

Donna

Donna, thank you for that two cents. As I said, to Lee that each day in our business we need to be in front of decision making people for our business. We need to balance our income producing activities with more long range activities that support our businesses.
