Do you feel there has to be a better way but don’t know what it is?

It is essential for MLM Success that you shift your mindset from employee to entrepreneur. I see so many individuals joining the ranks of network marketing companies and they simply transfer their employee thinking to their new venture. I believe this employee mindset is one of the biggest contributing factors to people’s failure to gain traction and success in their network marketing business.

It is understandable why this employee mindset is so entrenched in our thinking. For the most part our school system teaches people to be employees not entrepreneurs. Independent thinking is often discouraged and fitting in is often what is rewarded.

Just recently I was reading my Facebook newsfeed of how a friend of friend was describing her sponsor (the person who enrolled her in her MLM company ) as her boss. Wow! This is first time I heard someone describing their sponsor in their network marketing business as their boss. Another distributor I was speaking to about branding himself, and creating his own online products and I mentioned he could create his own e-book. He proceed to ask me, Can I do that?

I shared with him of course you can. It is just a decision you make. Most of us coming from the work a day world don’t realize we can create anything we choose. We all have something of value to offer to the world.

8 Ways How to Switch Your Mindset from Employee to Entrepreneur for MLM Success

Do Your Home Work and Educate Yourself About Network Marketing

Take the time to ask questions, research the web and read the top listed books on network marketing. A good place to start is with Don Failla’s book, “How to Build a Large Successful Multi-Level Marketing Organization.” Another top rated book is “Beach Money: Creating Your Dream Life Through Network Marketing” by Jordan Adler. I recommend Don Failla because he does such a great job of outlining what network marketing truly is and what it is not. Build your understanding and belief in MLM. This understanding will be instrumental in your success when you launch into your network marketing business.

Find a MLM Mentor

You may be wondering how you find a MLM Mentor. You found my blog and so you have already been researching on the web. Interview potential mentors, pick one that matches your values and style. Remember you are looking for an individual with a track record, integrity and is committed to your success.

Be Coachable

You can have the best mentor on the world but it will not benefit you not unless you are willing to be accountable and follow the guidance of your mentor.

Make a Long Term Commitment to Personal Development

Make a commitment to grow yourself as a person. Personal growth is key to being successful at whatever endeavor you choose to undertake. I like to say MLM/Network Marketing is a personal development program with a compensation plan attached. Read books, listen to audios and videos and attend personal growth seminars and/or webnars. Invest in yourself. Your mentor can also make recommendations of great programs that help assist them in their journey to developing a successful MLM business.

Build Your Belief in Yourself

Developing your belief in yourself is pivotal to creating lasting success in Network Marketing. Building your belief in yourself is a process. You will do this incremental steps. Allowing your mentor to guide you, you will take steps towards building your business. Each step will build on the next and through this journey you will have many opportunities to celebrate even the small wins along the way. The key to building your belief in yourself is to celebrate all the wins along the way. Even the failures are important because there is no better way to learn and take your game to the next level.

Also, surround yourself with positive people and individuals who are encouraging you in your journey and celebrate your successes. Look to connect with people that support you in your personal growth.

Taking Personal Responsibility for Your Success

When you take 100% responsibility for your failures and successes you are truly leaving the employee mentality behind and entering the mindset of an entrepreneur. Developing the attitude of 100% responsibility for your life demonstrates leadership. Taking the attitude if it’s meant to be it is up to me. This is the road to lasting freedom. When you make this switch in your mind you know you are becoming a true entrepreneur.

Take Action and Get in the Trenches

There is nothing faster that will ensure your transition from employee to entrepreneur than taking action. Everyday take action to move your business forward and to grow as a person. Never ask of others what you don’t expect and do yourself. Taking action has power in it, it will further build your belief in yourself and as you rack up all your small wins they will add up to the larger wins down the road.

Stay in the Game and Don’t Give Up

The biggest contributing factor to failure in MLM and entrepreneurship is people’s tendency to give up too easily. As an entrepreneur you will come to know that the best way to ensure your success as an entrepreneur is to keep swinging the bat. Stay in the game and make course corrections along the way.

Successful MLM Entrepreneur

Now you know through education, mentorship, personal development and staying the course you can leave your employee mindset behind and write your own ticket to success. Remember in MLM it is about passing it along, so now you are ready to mentor others to take the same journey of self discovery and creating MLM success.

    HI Faith,
I have found that setting a daily action plan and sticking to it has made a huge difference in my business but once I went full time it was very interesting the mental shift that had to take place.
I was totally accountable for my efforts which really was a great feeling but I had to adjust to it.

    Thanks,
    Billee Brady
