Avoiding Launch Overwhelm, What You Can Do Now

Never before has there been so much good content being produced for internet marketing applicable to any business model including network marketing. As a result of the maturing of the internet and the profession of network marketing there is a cornucopia of fabulous information/education launches happening right now.
If you are just getting starting or even a seasoned professional how do you keep from getting into information overload or what I call Launch Overwhelm? It goes back to the well recited phrase, ‘Most people don’t plan to fail they simply fail to plan.’ You must create your own master game plan.
Creating your own master game plan is taking responsibility for steering your ship. If you are just starting out on your entrepreneurial journey, you may be thinking you don’t know enough to create a master plan. No matter what point you are at in your journey, you can write down your passions, your goals, your unique offerings in the market place.
Remember plans can be adjusted and fine tuned over time. Your Master Plan gives you a different lens to observe all the amazing educational offerings coming your way on a day to day basis.
Mind map your journey. If you are not familiar with mind mapping you can check out mind mapping software or just take out a piece of paper and write down where you are at right now and the steps you will have to take to get to your desired goals.
If you are brand new then you need to seek out both mentorship and a good foundational education program to get you started however the scope of this post is simply to reinforce the power of having a plan. Even when you are brand new you can create a flow chart of where you are now, list your goals and desired outcomes. Also, write down any possible areas you want to grow in, like social media marketing, blogging etc.
The cool thing about mind mapping is you start out with a desired goal or an idea and just free flow your ideas from there. In other words allow one thought to spur other ideas and just right them down and connect your ideas. You can re-arrange them at anytime. The idea is just to get the juices flowing.
Once you have a master plan your vision becomes clear. You will pick and choose the educational offerings that are right for you and at the right time in the course of your marketing journey.
I know I’m guilty of wanting to do it all right now and I have to rein myself in from time to time to see if what I’m purchasing and spending my time at is the best use of my resources in assisting me to reaching my goals.
There will always be exceptions when you get a strong intuitive urge to move forward with a particular program. Learn to trust your intuition. Another exception would be when a program becomes available that you know you’ll be able to use at a future date then by all means avail yourself of the opportunity.
We are the sum total of our experiences and education. Create your plan, fine tune your plan as your progress on your entrepreneurial journey and make grounded choices from the foundation of your Master Plan.
Your master plan will give you the confidence that the decisions you make are in alignment with your core values and goals.
Below is a video where I share my experience of launch overwhelm.

Hi Kaye,
Thank you so much. Yes, having our plan and not getting off course because when it is our plan it reflects our values and what we hold dear in our lives. I love mind mapping because it is so creative and fun. I love creating in pictures so I can see my plan at a glance. Look forward to connecting with you Kaye in our mastermind group. Thanks, Faith

Hi Faith,
Overwhelm… you betcha! There are so many offerings that could be helpful, but the tendency is to go after all the bright shiny objects. One could get lost in all the hype.
You’ve given your readers some EXCELLENT advice with the Master Game Plan. The Mind Map is a great idea. Having explored several good software products available, I find that is particularly helpful to me in planning out where I want to be. Looking forward to future posts.

Faith,
I haven’t tried mind mapping yet. Sounds like a great way to focus on your end goal and steps to achieve that. Being flexible and open to new ideas is so important to moving forward. The opportunities and people you meet along the way can support you in ways you never imagined.
Great ideas!

Hi Val,
You’ll love mind mapping once you start using it. It is so creative and visual. The process helps you make new connections that you may not have thought of before. You dump out everything in your mind on a particular topic or ideas you have for your master plan and then you start connecting these ideas and creating categories and eventually the priority time line you accomplish each part of your plan. Enjoy!

My mind map is a visual one. It is a drawing of a tree. The roots are things I have already set up for myself. Each brach of the tree are the different ways to market. I spend 15 minutes a day on FB, 15 minutes on Twitter, One hour on Syndication. These are the things I “mastered” for myself.
It is the first thing I do in the morning when I start my business day.
Then I have my “psychic” business I have to attend to, so I leave a block of my day for that and make appointments accordingly.
In the evenings it is time to learn. I give myself time every day to learn a new process or plug-in and take action on it, until I can master it.
I know my ultimate goal – my golden goal. That will take time, for that is the top of the tree. But my tree needs care and I take care of that each day by consistency. I do take classes I feel I need to boost my knowledge on the latest and greatest things going on on the internet which is an ever changing rules and regulations. So I must keep abreast to that.
I don’t fall into the “trap” of every great new class, because that takes commitment. For the next six weeks I am ready to make a commitment to JB’s new class. I am part of the 7 fig network and that is working out so well with the newbies coming into my stream. I have several affiliates that coordinate with that. So I set up a cookie cutter plan of action when a newbie comes into my coaching network.
It IS a temptation to join all the latest and greatest, but I can’t be overwhelmed, so I stick to one every few months. Apply it, master it and then have room for the next if I choose.
Did I just write a novel? Sorry….I babble a lot.
Thank you for this great post that just has reinforced what I’m doing.
You are a great help and I am honored to know you, my new friend.
Blessings, Donna Merrill

Hi Donna,
I loved your post. Thanks for outlining your process. It really helps me as well. It is so good to know what others are doing and to learn and gleam insights from each other. You are a joy and I am grateful to be apart of our mastermind together. My challenge is reeling myself in from time to time and realizing I can do it all at once. Again thank you for sharing and remembering this is a journey not a destination.

I love the idea of a mind map! We have to get everything organized and figured out in our minds before it can be manifested in our life. What I have found too, regarding trying to avoid launch overwhelm, is that we need to be very realistic with ourselves. We want to set our goals high, but we also have to be realistic with what we can accomplish in a certain amount of time. If we always try to do too much, we get overwhelmed and shut down.
Awesome video Faith! I love that you are so real and let your great personality come through.
