Isn’t it beautiful the way life’s journey is so accurate in teaching us the lessons we need to hear at just the right time? Despite having the desire to be a social worker with teenagers at the age of 14, it has taken me 40 years to experience and discover myself so I can be right where I am, doing what I love. Social networking is the icing on the cake! As always, Faith I enjoy your insight and great writing to inspire me.

Speaking of “relating,” there certainly are a number of points I relate to on this post.

For instance…

“Have the courage to be yourself and have your blog, videos and other offerings on the web express your unique style, beliefs and creative genius.”

I may not have termed it exactly the same way (of course!) but the terms “style, beliefs and creative” certainly reflect some of the ideas I have tried to maintain while involved in my own internet marketing/authoring journey.

And, as you say, it is a journey!

If I only followed my heart I would have nothing to do with the internet or social media.I am an artist who wants visceral hands on activities & interactions.Alas the world has taken off in a different direction. I feel much resistance to spending time on something that drains me rather than feeds me.Just writing this takes time away from what I would rather be doing.Yet I guess I needed to express my frustration. All the hype about marketing yourself via social media does not seem to address people who are right brained in their approach to life.

With social media and blogging we have the opportunity to express ourself and meet the world. At the same time this opprotunity comes with it’s own pitfalls. Sometimes it is tempting to go away from yourself and follow others. So it is an opportunity and a challange. Thank you for reminding us by writing about it!

Very True Faith! Sometimes it takes a long time for people to find their authentic voice. Or they say “I’m not a writer.” That kind of negative thinking is a lack of self understanding. When we tune into our hearts and minds it will come. Thank you for sharing!

It’s so true be authentic. It’s is sometimes hard to speak that voice, it’s like being an artist – discovering your voice is your signature piece. It’s what speaks to your audience.

Dear Faith,
I love this article and you are so right on. People want to share their lives with others and be heard and seen and it it is about relationships. You always say that in your training’s. You are a great role model and I will never forget the first time I met you….we were in a room full of people and I could hardly talk to you because so many people wanted to come up to you and get their hug and say hi. You have so many beautiful friendships because you do go the extra mile to get to know someone , It’s not all about business. You give everything you’ve got when you are inter-acting with someone, even strangers. You are completely and totally present when we speak and I really appreciate that.
