Discover Your Authentic Voice

It takes courage to be true to yourself and follow your heart. We can often get in caught up in what we think we should do or someone else’s magic formula for success and yet at the end of the day we must measure our success by our own values and the urgings of our heart. Social Media is the great equalizer however this does not mean making everyone the same. What makes life so interesting is that we are not all the same and we all have an unique piece of the puzzle to life. This is one of the driving forces that makes social media so dynamic and exciting. People are drawn to people who they feel they can have an authentic connection.

We are starving for real connections. At our essence we all want the same things, happiness, purpose, love and at our core essence we are the same and yet how we express ourselves in the world is as unique as every snowflake. This dynamic is what creates the magnetism of life which attracts us to each other.

As you journey through your internet marketing and forge relationships through social media you will be discovering your authentic voice. This can take time. We have so many voices in our heads. The voices of our family members, our friends, our community and the world at large. As I started seriously delving into internet marketing eight months ago, first I had my learning curve, then I found myself somewhat repeating what I learned from my mentors and trainers and only now am I bringing more of my own authentic voice and insights to the table.

I know this will be an ongoing process of discovery not unlike when we transverse life as children and grow into adulthood to discover our unique gifts, offerings and passions. We live in a world today that sometimes overly relies on systems and formula’s to create efficiency and leverage in our lives. Systems are important however a forced system that does not take into account your unique style will not serve you well or attract your desired audience on the web.

Have the courage to be yourself and have your blog, videos and other offerings on the web express your unique style, beliefs and creative genius. You will have more fun and the people who are looking for you and what you have to offer will be able to find you because you are writing from the heart.

You are talking from the heart, I can see that. To be authentic is even more important by getting older. You will always be accepted for it and respected.

If I only followed my heart I would have nothing to do with the internet or social media.I am an artist who wants visceral hands on activities & interactions.Alas the world has taken off in a different direction. I feel much resistance to spending time on something that drains me rather than feeds me.Just writing this takes time away from what I would rather be doing.Yet I guess I needed to express my frustration. All the hype about marketing yourself via social media does not seem to address people who are right brained in their approach to life.

    Hi Faith,
With social media and blogging we have the opportunity to express ourself and meet the world. At the same time this opprotunity comes with it’s own pitfalls. Sometimes it is tempting to go away from yourself and follow others. So it is an opportunity and a challange. Thank you for reminding us by writing about it!

    Hi Faith:

“The Soul Loves the Truth” #Quote from Denise Linn.

Faith you make excellents points on the importance of being authentic and being true to oneself. Each of us are given gifts meant to be shared with the rest of the world, and that is what makes us unique and special. In due time we will find ourselves, identify our passion, and the true joy of voicing our dreams.

Very True Faith! Sometimes it takes a long time for people to find their authentic voice. Or they say “I’m not a writer.” That kind of negative thinking is a lack of self understanding. When we tune into our hearts and minds it will come. Thank you for sharing!

    Hey Faith,
It’s so true be authentic. It’s is sometimes hard to speak that voice, it’s like being an artist – discovering your voice is your signature piece. It’s what speaks to your audience.

Yes, I have so much respect for artists, actors etc. In order to be great you have to put it all on the line. I’ll give you a call tomorrow.

    Dear Faith,
I love this article and you are so right on. People want to share their lives with others and be heard and seen and it it is about relationships. You always say that in your training’s. You are a great role model and I will never forget the first time I met you….we were in a room full of people and I could hardly talk to you because so many people wanted to come up to you and get their hug and say hi. You have so many beautiful friendships because you do go the extra mile to get to know someone , It’s not all about business. You give everything you’ve got when you are inter-acting with someone, even strangers. You are completely and totally present when we speak and I really appreciate that.
