Facebook Fan Page Can Turbo Charge Your Business

Facebook Fan Page Can Turbo Charge Your Business

Facebook is a phenomenon in the way that people interrelate on the internet. 300 Million users and growing now on Facebook.  2.0 marketing understands that those who are being marketed to on the internet are determining how they want to receive their information. One of the reasons that Social Media has caught the imagination of the public is because it allows for a two way conversation, in fact it allows for conversations between any number of people who choose to engage on any particular topic.

The last 10 years has seen a huge push when it comes to internet marketing and the importance of creating your ever important email list. Ideally you want to create a targeted list of people who are interested in the topics and products you offer. Until social media came of age, the lists being built were mostly what I call static lists. Yes, when done properly the individuals on the list were highly interested in your offerings.

Forums have always had the power of being interactive and community building vehicles. Participating in Forums is great and there is a very specific protocol that needs to be followed and list building happens outside of the forum when an individual chooses to find out more about what you offer by clicking on your link in your signature file in the posts you do on the forum.

Offering comment boxes on your blog would give the individuals visiting your blog an opportunity to give feedback, ideas and insights but does not give your visitors an opportunity to interact with other visitors. This would be with exception of blogs or websites which offer a forum environment for their visitors.

Now enter in Social Media like Facebook, MySpace and Twitter and interaction between participants is the norm. In fact social media is connecting us at levels never before thought possible. Perfect case in point is old high school friends finding me on Facebook who I have not seen or spoken to for over 30 years. Extraordinary!

Facebook has always been a great place to connect with friends and interact, express and comment on what others are sharing on their wall communications or notes area of their profile. Now with the increasing popularity of Fan Pages on Facebook, you can take your marketing to a whole new level.

Facebook Fan Pages really can turbo charge your list building. In the interactive environment of Facebook when you set up a Fan Page and build up your Fan page authority some amazing things can occur. As with anything you must properly present and promote your fan page. Your Facebook profile limits you to 5000 friends but your Fan Page can have unlimited fans. Plus anytime you post anything it goes out on the newsfeed to all your fans and their friends.

The average person on Facebook has 250 friends when you multiply this by the number of fans you have at any given moment it doesn’t take long for the numbers to become exponential.

If you play up the interactive aspect of Facebook and give your fans opportunities to contribute and participate you will increase the likelihood of creating a buzz around you and whatever topic is being offered up. Your ideas, products, books etc. now have the opportunity to move virally through people’s networks.

Because your list of fans is interactive and the average Facebook user checks in 4 times per day for an average of 20 minutes now you have a highly dynamic and vibrant list that will take on a life of its own. When you offer value to your fans, make it fun and interactive your fans will generate much of your list building over time.

You always are hearing or reading the importance of building a list, what is most important is how responsive is your list? The more responsive your list the more valuable your list becomes to your business. When you post an offering among an excited group of fans you are turbo charging your income potential and most importantly creating a loyal and committed fan base which satisfies our human need to belong and be apart of a  community.

I couldn’t agree with you more on the fact that social media has really transformed the way network marketers do business. It allows for relationship building in a way that was never possible before. I personally love facebook and it is where I do most of my networking and has been a key part in building the trust with not only my list but the community. However I have been slow in starting a fan page but I think I’ll jump on that soon :)

    Thanks for the great post!
